Ma Da Bridge is a key component of the main transport route connecting the northern and southern parts of Dong Nai City.

Completing investment in the project

In September 2025, Dong Nai broke ground on the Ma Da Bridge. The project begins at Provincial Road 753 in Tan Loi Commune, Dong Nai City, and ends at the intersection with the road connecting Ma Da Bridge to Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 4.

Ma Da Bridge is an important link connecting Provincial Road 753 with Provincial Roads 761 and 767 and Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 4, forming a continuous transport corridor between the northern and southern parts of Dong Nai City. The route also connects the Central Highlands provinces with Long Thanh International Airport and the Cai Mep - Thi Vai deep-water port complex, helping accelerate the development of interprovincial logistics infrastructure and industrial parks, thereby promoting local socio-economic development.

According to Ho Van Ha, Member of the City Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, the Ma Da Bridge is an important connectivity project for the city and will also help complete Dong Nai's transport infrastructure.

Under the initially approved feasibility study report, Ma Da Bridge was to be built with four motor vehicle lanes in Phase 1. However, during project implementation, adjustments to the feasibility study report and investment policy were agreed upon to meet traffic demand, complete the bridge's construction and improve investment efficiency. Accordingly, Ma Da Bridge will be built to its full planned scale of eight lanes.

According to the city's Transport Works Construction Investment Project Management Board, in June 2026, the City People's Committee issued a decision approving adjustments to the investment policy for the Ma Da Bridge Construction Project. In August 2026, the committee subsequently issued a decision approving adjustments to the project's feasibility study report.

Expediting the completion of procedures

Immediately after the groundbreaking, the contractor completed the mobilization of construction machinery and equipment. It also completed the temporary access road and protective fencing and arranged for the casting of precast girders at the factory. Meanwhile, construction of the other components of the Ma Da Bridge Construction Project has been suspended in recent months pending completion of the procedures for approving the project adjustments.

Nguyen Linh, Deputy Director of the city's Transport Works Construction Investment Project Management Board, said that following approval of the project adjustments, the board is preparing revised designs and will resume construction once the revised designs are approved. The main priority is to complete the construction design documents for submission for approval.

The project's biggest obstacle at present is that increasing the investment scale from four lanes to eight lanes has changed the scope, scale and workload of the construction package compared with those stipulated in the signed contract. In addition, construction costs under the revised scale exceed the value of the signed contract, requiring consideration and determination of an appropriate solution for handling the existing contract.

The city's Transport Works Construction Investment Project Management Board is therefore coordinating with relevant parties to review and confirm the volume of work already completed and negotiate and agree on matters related to the handling of the contract. Once the negotiation results have been agreed upon, the board will compile a report and submit it to the City People's Committee for consideration and approval of the proposed contract-handling plan, providing the basis for implementing the subsequent steps in accordance with regulations.

The Ma Da Bridge Construction Project, including its approach roads, has a total length of 583 meters and a width of 33.5 meters, with eight lanes and a 1.5-meter-wide median. The approach road section has a roadbed and pavement width of 30 meters, comprising eight lanes and a 1.5-meter-wide median.
