Practical projects for Binh Loc Ward’s residents

In response to the special 500-day-and-night emulation campaign themed “Unity – Discipline – Efficiency – Breakthrough, building a civilized and modern Dong Nai," Binh Loc Ward is focusing on removing infrastructure bottlenecks and accelerating the implementation of numerous public investment projects.

In particular, local authorities have prioritized repairs and upgrades to schools to provide students with safe conditions for learning and recreation from the start of the new school year.

Many schools "get a new look"

In the early days of the 2026-2027 school year, Tuoi Tho Kindergarten in Binh Loc Quarter has taken on a much fresher appearance. After a period of repairs and upgrades, many deteriorated facilities of the school have been renovated, making the school more spacious, cleaner, and safer for teachers and students alike.

According to Nguyen Thi Nhat Chi Mai, Principal of Tuoi Tho Kindergarten, some parts of the school had deteriorated after many years of use, affecting the campus landscape and posing safety risks, particularly during the rainy season.

In the coming period, the Binh Loc Ward People's Committee will continue to review and prioritize investment in essential infrastructure, efficiently utilize public investment resources, strengthen quality management, and accelerate project progress. The ultimate goal is to gradually complete the infrastructure system, improve the quality of life for the people, and create momentum for socio-economic development in the area, contributing to the city's development.

To address these issues, the repair and upgrade project focused on essential parts, with a total budget of more than VND2.1 billion. To ensure that the work would be completed on schedule while the school continued its childcare and educational activities, the school coordinated closely with the Project Management Board and the Binh Loc Ward People's Committee to develop a specific construction plan. The work was carried out on a "rolling" basis, with one classroom or area completed at a time. Thanks to this approach, the project was completed on schedule and in time for the new school year.

"The completion of this project has helped address shortcomings in the school's facilities, ensuring safety for students and creating favorable conditions for teachers to teach," said Mai.

Along with Tuoi Tho Kindergarten, the An Loc Kindergarten satellite campus in Suoi Tre Quarter, formerly Sen Hong Kindergarten, has also recently undergone repairs and upgrades to several parts. The roof, classrooms, schoolyard, restrooms, and electrical and water systems were renovated and upgraded at a total cost of nearly VND1.5 billion.

Nguyen Thi Kim Anh, Vice Principal of An Loc Kindergarten, said, "The school has been repaired and upgraded to become spacious and clean, and it was put into use just in time for the new school year, creating favorable conditions for teachers to teach and for students to learn and play. Both the teaching staff and parents are very satisfied with the school's new look."

Prioritizing essential infrastructure

Bringing these repaired and upgraded schools into service for the new school year is part of Binh Loc Ward's infrastructure investment plan for 2026. Phan Van Hau, Deputy Head of the Binh Loc Ward Division of Economy, Infrastructure and Urban Affairs, said the locality has been carrying out repairs and upgrades at five schools in the area, namely Tuoi Tho Kindergarten, An Loc Kindergarten, Xuan Thien Kindergarten, Tin Nghia Primary School, and Nguyen Huu Canh Primary School. The total budget for repairs and upgrades at these schools in this phase is nearly VND30 billion.

For school projects that can be completed early, the ward is urging contractors to accelerate progress, striving to put them into use by the new school year. This is also how the locality is putting the spirit of the 500-day emulation campaign into practice by focusing resources on practical projects that directly affect people's lives. Specifically, the repair and upgrade of Nguyen Huu Canh Primary School, including the main campus and the Cay Da branch, is a large-scale project with a total investment of more than VND24 billion. Due to the large volume of work, the project needs to be implemented in phases to meet technical, quality, and safety requirements. The project is expected to be completed and put into use in 2027.

In parallel with the school projects, many road and drainage projects are also being implemented. Specifically, the project to repair and upgrade the road and drainage systems along the Khu 1 route in Xuan Thien Quarter has a total investment of nearly VND10 billion. So far, about 40% of the work has been completed, and the project is expected to be put into use in November 2026. Vo Van Tan Road, which is approximately 950 meters long and has a total investment of more than VND13 billion, is also about 40% complete. The project is expected to be completed and put into use in November 2026.

“The Ward People's Committee regularly monitors progress, urges contractors to accelerate work, and coordinates with construction units to adjust plans, allocate personnel appropriately, and take advantage of favorable weather to speed up advancement. Construction units are also making efforts to overcome difficulties in the spirit of “overcoming the sun, conquering the rain,” ensuring progress as required by the investor. To date, the ward's public investment disbursement rate has reached approximately 76%, ensuring progress in line with the City People's Committee's requirements," Hau said.

Tran Minh Chau, Vice Chairman of the Binh Loc Ward People's Committee, noted that the simultaneous implementation of infrastructure projects is one of the locality's key tasks in response to the special 500-day-and-night emulation campaign launched by the Dong Nai City Party Committee’s Executive Board. Each completed project has practical significance for local residents. Repaired and upgraded schools provide students with a better learning environment and teachers with favorable conditions for teaching. Investment in roads and drainage systems helps improve local infrastructure and gradually raises the quality of life for local people.
