Entire site for Ho Chi Minh City–Thu Dau Mot–Chon Thanh Expressway to be handed over in September 2026

The Dong Nai City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board is coordinating with relevant agencies and local authorities to complete compensation and support work, while encouraging affected households to receive compensation payments and hand over the remaining land for the Ho Chi Minh City–Thu Dau Mot–Chon Thanh Expressway project, with the goal of completing the handover of the entire project site in September 2026.

The Ho Chi Minh City–Thu Dau Mot–Chon Thanh Expressway has a total length of more than 52 km, passing through Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai City. The section through Dong Nai City is approximately 6.6 km long, passing through Nha Bich Commune and Chon Thanh Ward. More than 84 hectares of land in Dong Nai City are subject to acquisition for the project. To date, approximately 98% of the project site has been handed over for construction.

For the section running through Dong Nai City, the project involves the construction of a six-lane expressway. In the first phase, a complete four-lane expressway, including emergency stopping lanes, will be constructed. Two-lane frontage roads will also be built on both sides of the expressway, with each frontage road comprising two lanes. The project has a total investment of more than VND 1.4 trillion.

According to the Dong Nai City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board, the construction package for the Ho Chi Minh City–Thu Dau Mot–Chon Thanh Expressway section passing through the city has so far reached approximately 35% of the contract value. Meanwhile, the construction package for the resettlement area has been completed.
