Dak Lak Department of Ethnic and Religious Affairs exchanges experience in Dong Nai

A working delegation from the Dak Lak Provincial Department of Ethnic and Religious Affairs (DoERA), led by Deputy Director Le Thi Thanh Bich, made a fact-finding trip to Dong Nai City on September 17 and exchanged experience with local counterparts.

According to Le Thi Thanh Bich, Deputy Director of the Dak Lak DoERA, Dak Lak Province has a population of 3.3 million people belonging to 45 ethnic groups, including 840,000 ethnic minority people. Of its 102 commune-level administrative units, 81 are located in ethnic minority and mountainous areas. Seven religions are currently practiced in the province, with nearly 730,000 followers. During its working visit to the city, the delegation expressed a desire to exchange valuable experience and effective practices in carrying out ethnic, religious, and belief affairs in Dong Nai.

On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Dong Nai DoERA, Deputy Director Tho Ut said that Dong Nai is home to more than 421,000 ethnic minority people, accounting for nearly 9.4% of the city's total population. As of September 2026, the city had 207 hamlets in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, including 28 particularly disadvantaged hamlets, as well as 46 communes in ethnic minority and mountainous areas for the 2026-2030 period. The locality has 24 religious organizations representing 10 religions and more than 2.65 million followers, along with faith institutions and other forms of religious and belief activities.

During the working visit of the Dak Lak DoERA delegation, the Dong Nai DoERA was ready to share its experience while also learning from Dak Lak Province's effective practices in carrying out ethnic, religious, and belief affairs.
