With nearly 80 billion VND in public investment capital allocated for 2026, Dong Phu Ward is concentrating resources on essential infrastructure, prioritizing five key transport projects.
Dong Phu Ward is actively addressing site clearance issues and urging contractors to accelerate construction, aiming to complete the projects and put them into operation soon. The projects are expected to strengthen connections among residential areas, major transport routes, and industrial parks, thereby contributing to expanding space for urban development.
Prioritizing resources for transport
Dong Phu Ward is currently implementing five key transport projects: upgrading and expanding D2 Road from the Pham Ngoc Thach intersection to the end of Group 1, connecting with DT.741 Road in Tan Tien Quarter; upgrading and expanding the road in Group 21, Tan An Quarter, from DT.741 Road to Phu Rieng Do Road and the branch turning onto Nguyen Van Linh Road; constructing the extension of Ton Duc Thang Road to Bac Dong Phu Industrial Park; upgrading and expanding the road in Group 2, Tan Ha Quarter, from Ba Mu Dam to Phat Da Pagoda; and upgrading and expanding the route from the Phat Da Pagoda intersection through the Tan Ha Quarter Cultural House.

Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Phu Ward Ho Hung Phi said that, compared with previous years, public investment in the area this year is more concentrated, with priority given to completing urban technical infrastructure to meet development requirements following the locality's transition from commune-level status to a ward. Accordingly, capital is structured to focus on important and urgent projects that directly affect socio-economic development, gradually addressing infrastructure limitations and strengthening connectivity between residential areas, major roads, and Bac Dong Phu Industrial Park. Once completed, these roads will create more favorable conditions for people to travel, transport goods, and develop the economy.
To ensure project progress, Dong Phu Ward is carrying out site clearance in parallel with construction. The Division of Economy, Infrastructure and Urban Affairs coordinates with the Land Fund Development Center to conduct inventories and determine the affected area and number of households. On this basis, specialized agencies coordinate with the quarters' management boards to disseminate information and encourage residents to hand over the site and, in cases involving minor impacts, donate land. Households that are significantly affected and face difficult circumstances are considered for compensation plans in accordance with regulations.
A representative of the Dong Phu Ward Division of Economy, Infrastructure and Urban Affairs said the leaders of the Ward People's Committee regularly organize delegations to inspect progress and direct specialized agencies to coordinate with project owners and contractors to resolve issues as they arise, ensuring that projects meet progress and quality requirements. Currently, all five transport projects in the area are being implemented simultaneously, and completed components will undergo partial acceptance in accordance with regulations.
In Tan Tien Quarter, Dong Phu Ward, the project to upgrade and expand D2 Road broke ground at the end of May 2026. The route is nearly 3.6 km long, with a 12-meter-wide roadbed. The implementation of the project will affect the land of some households, encroaching on their property by a width of 1 to 4 meters.
Nguyen Hoang Nam, Head of Tan Tien Quarter, said the quarter has more than 2,100 households, many of which are located along D2 Road. The project has received support from local residents, as the completed road will make travel and business activities more convenient.
Nguyen Viet Trang, who is in charge of technical matters at Truong Tho One-Member Co., Ltd., the contractor for D2 Road and several other transport routes in the area, said, "The company is concentrating human resources and machinery to accelerate progress. Wherever residents hand over land, we immediately carry out leveling and excavation. On days with favorable weather, workers work through lunch, in the evening, and on Sundays. The company strives to complete the projects ahead of the contract deadline."
Wider roads open new development opportunities
For business households along the roads, the effectiveness of investment in transport infrastructure has been evident since the project began. Nguyen Xuan Duong, owner of Khoi café adjacent to D2 Road in Tan Tien Quarter, said that workers at Bac Dong Phu Industrial Park currently travel mainly on DT.741 Road. Meanwhile, traffic volume on the route is quite high, and traffic conditions are complex and dangerous. When D2 Road is widened, residents and workers will prioritize using this route for greater safety.
"D2 Road runs parallel to DT.741 Road and has many branch roads connecting residential areas and industrial parks. When the road is widened, travel will be more convenient, and my family's business activities, as well as those of households along the route, will have opportunities to develop," said Duong.
Not only D2 Road but also the other routes currently receiving investment are interconnected and synchronized, directly promoting production and business activities and the economic development of local people. This is also one of the reasons Dong Phu Ward is concentrating capital on these projects.
Chairman of the Dong Phu Ward People's Committee Ho Hung Phi added that by the end of August 2026, the ward is expected to have disbursed more than 48 billion VND in public investment capital, equivalent to 60% of the plan. Public investment projects in the ward are progressing on schedule, with none behind schedule. The ward aims to complete 100% of its key transport projects while ensuring the highest quality standards by the end of November 2026, thereby continuously improving urban transport infrastructure and creating more space for local socio-economic development.
"We define work progress and quality as the overarching requirement. The project implementation process is basically favorable due to the strong consensus among residents on site clearance. Specialized agencies have also focused on closely monitoring the projects, thereby promptly resolving issues as they arise so that the projects can be implemented smoothly and without interruption."
