In response to the special 500-day-and-night emulation campaign themed "Solidarity – Discipline – Efficiency – Breakthrough, building a civilized and modern Dong Nai" (referred to as the special emulation drive), women’s unions at all levels across the city have proactively carried out numerous practical activities aligned with the women’s unions' tasks and the needs of union members and women.

These activities have motivated officials, union members, and women to further promote their roles and responsibilities and work together to fulfill the targets set by the Dong Nai Women's Union during the special emulation drive.

Turning the drive into practical tasks

Bui Thi Hanh, Vice Chairwoman of the Dong Nai Women's Union, said the organization has determined that its response to the special emulation drive should not stop at registration or the launching of campaigns. Instead, each target must be translated into specific actions with products, timelines, beneficiaries, and measurable results. In that spirit, immediately after the special emulation drive was launched, women’s unions at all levels quickly translated the competitive spirit into practical projects, tasks, and models.

The Dong Nai Women's Union has focused on implementing activities that both provide guidance and generate resources while opening up new approaches. A prime example is the "Connecting Resources - Spreading Love" program. Accordingly, the Dong Nai Women’s Union signed a cooperation agreement with the "Starting from the Heart" Fund, lasting until 2030, to accompany and care for orphans in difficult circumstances in the area. In 2026 alone, the program provided 1.2 billion VND in support. In response to digital transformation requirements, the Dong Nai Women’s Union has established clubs such as Women Helping One Another with Digital Transformation and Women with Foreign Languages, as well as Advisory Group Supporting Women's Startups and Digital Business. It has also established community foreign language clubs in communes and wards with industrial parks, thereby enhancing the capacity of union members and women in the new phase.

Alongside city-level models and activities, the competitive atmosphere among women’s unions and within each union at the grassroots level has been vibrant. According to monitoring by the Dong Nai Women’s Union, since the launch of the special emulation drive, women's unions in communes and wards have implemented at least 75 projects, tasks, models, and activities with total resources of nearly 1.5 billion VND. These projects, tasks, models, and activities mainly focus on livelihood support; the awarding of "warm homes"; flag routes; flower routes; lighting; the provision of gifts, scholarships, health insurance cards, and free medical examination vouchers; and waste classification models at the source.

Nguyen Thi Tuyet Minh, Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Gia Kiem Commune and Chairwoman of the Gia Kiem Commune Women's Union, said that in response to the special emulation drive, the Commune Women's Union has implemented many outstanding activities, including awarding 90 scholarships to poor, disadvantaged, and orphaned children and providing livelihood support worth 15 million VND to women with disabilities. The organization continues to plant and care for trees, helping create bright, green, clean, and beautiful roads and build new-style rural areas. It is currently managing 19 loan groups with a total outstanding balance of more than 54 billion VND to support union members and women in economic development and job creation and help disadvantaged union members and women stabilize their lives and gradually improve their circumstances.

Creating substantive changes in women’s union activities

Bui Thi Hanh, Vice Chairwoman of the Dong Nai Women’s Union and Head of the City Women's Affairs Department, said encouraging results have been achieved after two months of implementing the special emulation drive. However, to fulfill the targets set in the drive, women’s unions at all levels need to continue promoting their proactive and responsible spirit, closely follow the established targets and tasks, and conduct regular reviews to ensure that each item is implemented according to schedule and on time, without allowing tasks to accumulate toward the end of the emulation drive.

The value of the emulation drive lies not only in the number of projects or the amount of resources mobilized but more importantly in the changes created in the lives of women and the community.

and Head of the City Women's Affairs Department

The special emulation drive can create a ripple effect only when union members and women are both beneficiaries and direct participants, contributing ideas, efforts, and resources and working with women’s union organizations to create specific results in their localities and communities. Therefore, Bui Thi Hanh said each level of the women’s union needs to select communication and mobilization content and forms appropriate to each group of women, creating conditions for every member and woman to participate through practical actions suited to their abilities. At the same time, special attention must be paid to the quality and effectiveness of the emulation content. Registered emulation activities must stem from the actual needs of union members and women and be linked to the unions' tasks and the development requirements of each locality. Women’s unions at all levels need to proactively coordinate with Party committees, authorities, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, sectors, businesses, and the community to mobilize additional resources, thereby enhancing the effectiveness and reach of the emulation drive.

"The most important thing after the special emulation drive is not just completing the set targets, but creating a substantive change in Women's Union activities; awakening the sense of responsibility, proactiveness, and creativity of officials, union members, and women; encouraging contributions through specific, practical deeds; and joining hands to implement the city's development goals," said Hanh.

Gia Kiem Commune Women's Union Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Tuyet Minh said that in the future, the Commune Women's Union will continue to closely follow the targets of the special emulation drive and proactively concretize them through practical projects and tasks suited to the local situation and the needs of union members and women. In addition, it will spread the spirit of the special emulation drive, promoting the role of officials, union members, and women in each project, task, and model. This will contribute, together with the political system, to the successful implementation of the goals and targets set in the special emulation drive.
