Living standards continue to improve in ethnic minority areas

Dong Nai City currently has 421,000 people from 37 ethnic minority groups, accounting for nearly 9.4% of its population. In the first half of 2026, the material and spiritual well-being of ethnic minority communities continued to improve, while security and public order and the great national unity bloc remained firmly maintained.

The city currently operates 10 boarding schools for ethnic minority students, serving more than 3,200 students and helping provide educational opportunities for children from ethnic minority communities and mountainous areas. Ethnic policies have been implemented promptly and effectively.

In recent times, the city has provided support to more than 3,500 school pupils and university students from ethnic minorities, with total funding exceeding VND 2.57 billion. It has also allocated VND 280 million to repair seven houses for Cham, Hoa, and Khmer ethnic households.

Under the National Target Program for socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, total implementation funding since the beginning of the year has exceeded VND 1.2 trillion, with more than 70% of the planned amount disbursed.

In addition, continued attention has been given to supporting reputable individuals and promoting the role of exemplary village elders, helping strengthen the great national unity bloc and maintain political stability, social order, and safety in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.
