Promoting local specialties not only enhances product value and expands markets but also helps promote the image of the locality, its people, and its cultural identity, thereby contributing to local socio-economic development.

To encourage Youth Union members and young people to play a more active role in promoting local products, the City Youth Union and Youth Association have stepped up efforts to strengthen digital communication capacity and support the promotion of local products. These efforts help enhance the value of local products, promote socio-economic development, and project the image of a dynamic and culturally rich Dong Nai.
Enhancing digital communication capacity
Enhancing digital communication capacity is one of the initiatives recently launched by the City Youth Union and Youth Association to equip Youth Union members and young people with knowledge and skills in digital communication, digital marketing, and social media content creation. The initiative also promotes the vanguard role of youth in introducing OCOP (One Commune One Product) products and local specialties.
A notable example is the training program on communication and digital marketing skills on social media platforms, recently co-organized by the City Students’ Association and Domilk Joint Stock Company (Domilk), which attracted more than 100 Youth Union members and young people. The program provided participants with knowledge and practical skills in developing TikTok channels and Facebook Reels, applying artificial intelligence to content creation, filming and editing short videos, affiliate marketing, adding shopping carts, selling on digital platforms, and building personal brands on social media. The training effectively met the practical needs of young participants.
Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, a third-year student at the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Dong Nai Technology University, said she uses Facebook, Zalo, and TikTok to connect with others, seek entertainment, and share moments from her daily life. However, engagement with her posts has remained relatively low. Through the sharing sessions of experienced speakers in digital content creation during the training program, she gained a deeper understanding of how to develop ideas, produce engaging videos, create effective titles, edit content, and understand the operating principles of social media platforms. She said she plans to gradually apply the knowledge and skills acquired during the program to develop her personal channel.
Ha Duy Khanh, Deputy Director of the Center for Communication, Admissions and Corporate Relations at Eastern College in Binh Phuoc Ward, highly appreciated the training program. He noted that the college currently conducts communication activities across multiple platforms, including its website, Facebook, TikTok, and Zalo. "To keep pace with current trends, alongside traditional communication channels, it is necessary to strengthen digital communication. Therefore, I proactively participated in the training to meet experienced speakers and gain additional knowledge and skills in digital content creation. With what I have learned, I plan to apply more digital communication strategies to bring the college's information closer to school pupils, parents and prospective applicants," said Khanh.
Encouraging the promotion of local products
Alongside efforts to enhance digital communication capacity, the City Youth Union has also encouraged Youth Union members and young people to help promote local products. Following training in digital communication and marketing skills on social media platforms, the City Youth Union is coordinating with Domilk in Xuan Hoa Commune to organize two contests. Specifically, the "Timeless Taste" video creation contest requires participants to present and introduce Domilk products through videos documenting their experience with the products and sharing their impressions. Meanwhile, the "2026 Summer Affiliate Sales Challenge" contest is open to individuals whose TikTok accounts have fewer than 10,000 followers at the time of judging. Participants will register as affiliate content creators through the TikTok Shop platform, produce videos, and attach shopping carts featuring products available in the Domilk store.
In previous years, the Provincial Youth Union (now the City Youth Union) organized a range of activities to strengthen digital communication capacity, including the KOL Festival to jointly build the OCOP brand, together with training in livestream selling, e-commerce sales and OCOP product promotion.
Vo Van Manh Em, Standing Deputy Director of Domilk, said the activities are intended to implement the locality's strategy for digital and green economic development while responding to the campaign, "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods." They also aim to inspire pride among Youth Union members and young people in Dong Nai's products and encourage them to play an active role in promoting the locality's signature products. Through this series of communication and digital experience activities, including the "Timeless Taste" video creation contest and the "2026 Summer Affiliate Sales Challenge" contest, the Organizing Committee hopes Youth Union members and young people will help widely promote Domilk products in particular and Dong Nai's signature and OCOP products in general to domestic and international consumers.
Having lived in Dong Nai since childhood, Chu Thi Hoa, a third-year student at the Faculty of Primary and Preschool Education of Dong Nai University, has many memories associated with Long Thanh milk candy produced by Domilk. For that reason, she participated in a series of communication and digital experience activities, particularly the "Timeless Taste" video creation contest, with the hope of sharing her childhood memories and promoting Domilk products to a wider audience. In addition to promoting Domilk products, she plans to use her personal TikTok channel, "Ngoc Hoa - Me chu tay," which currently has more than 11,200 followers, to introduce many other signature products from Dong Nai in the future.
By participating in promoting local products, each young person not only helps bring local products closer to consumers but also makes a practical contribution to fostering pride in one's hometown, enhancing product value, and creating new development opportunities for the locality in the digital age.
