Dong Nai ready for 10th Asian Pencak Silat Championship 2026

Preparations for the 10th Asian Pencak Silat Championship 2026 have been essentially completed, with Dong Nai City ready to host the continental martial arts event from July 15 to 23 at the City Sports Training and Competition Center Gymnasium (Facility 1, Tan Trieu Ward), ahead of the opening ceremony.

The tournament is jointly organized by the International Pencak Silat Federation (PERSILAT), the Sports Authority of Vietnam, the Dong Nai Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and other relevant units. This year's championship brings together nearly 300 athletes from 10 Asian countries and territories.

The Organizing Committee has completed the final rehearsal for the opening ceremony, while the program script and competition management procedures have been finalized. The sound and lighting systems, professional equipment, competition areas, and plans for security, medical services, fire prevention and firefighting, and athlete reception have all been thoroughly reviewed and completed.

Deputy Director of the Dong Nai Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Khac Vinh said that, immediately after the Sports Authority of Vietnam and the Dong Nai People's Committee granted approval to host the tournament, the Department established the Organizing Committee and specialized subcommittees and closely coordinated with departments, sectors and functional forces to carry out the assigned tasks on schedule.

Regarding the tournament's facilities, the necessary equipment has been invested in and supplemented to meet the requirements for hosting a continental-level event. At the same time, plans covering security, safety, medical services, food hygiene and safety, and accommodation for participating athlete delegations have been developed and agreed upon with the relevant units.

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has also established a volunteer team to assist each participating delegation. The volunteers have received professional training and are ready to support the delegations throughout the tournament, helping create a positive impression of Dong Nai City's friendliness and hospitality among international friends.

The opening ceremony of the 10th Asian Pencak Silat Championship 2026 will take place on the evening of July 17.
