Voluntary blood donation movement continues to spread across Dong Nai community

On the morning of June 10, the Dong Nai Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation organized the Red Journey Program and a ceremony honoring outstanding repeat blood donors in response to World Blood Donor Day 2026 at the Dong Nai Police Infirmary.

Speaking at the event, Nguyen Tan Hung, Chairman of the Dong Nai Red Cross Society, Standing Deputy Head of the provincial Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation, emphasized that voluntary blood donation has long been recognized as a noble humanitarian act and a meaningful tradition reflecting the compassion and solidarity of the Vietnamese people. He noted that the Red Journey is not only a charitable activity but also a practical movement that significantly contributes to public healthcare and community health protection.

Over the years, the voluntary blood donation movement in Dong Nai has received strong support from local authorities and enthusiastic participation from government officials, police officers, soldiers, and residents from all walks of life. Many individuals have donated blood dozens of times and have willingly responded to urgent donation requests in emergencies, helping save the lives of numerous patients in need.

The provincial Steering Committee expressed its appreciation and gratitude to all donors for their humanitarian spirit, sense of responsibility, and continued contributions to the voluntary blood donation movement.

To ensure that the Red Journey Program 2026 continues to expand its positive impact, the Chairman of the Dong Nai Red Cross Society called on local authorities, agencies, and organizations to intensify communication efforts highlighting the significance of blood donation and to create favorable conditions for officials, employees, and residents to participate. He also encouraged every citizen to become an advocate for voluntary blood donation, spreading the message of compassion and solidarity to relatives, friends, and the broader community.

During the program, the Steering Board honored 11 officers and soldiers of the Dong Nai Police Force who had donated blood multiple times and achieved outstanding results in the 2025 voluntary blood donation movement. On the occasion of the Traditional Day of the Vietnamese Elderly (June 6), the Dong Nai Red Cross Society also presented 20 gift packages to disadvantaged elderly residents across the city.

Following the ceremony, a blood donation drive was held at the Dong Nai Police Infirmary. The event attracted a large number of participants, resulting in nearly 400 units of blood being collected.
