Held annually from May through the end of August, the Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign not only serves as a platform for Youth Union members and young people to improve their skills and contribute to the community, but also an opportunity for them to uphold their pioneering spirit and a peak period for spreading the positive values of volunteerism.

In line with the guidance of the Central Youth Union, local political tasks, and practical requirements, Youth Union organizations at all levels have implemented numerous meaningful volunteer activities since early May 2026.
From supporting exam candidates...
Having just completed 10th grade under the 9+ system at Dong Nai College of Engineering and Technology, Nguyen Le Bao Ngoc volunteered to join the Exam Season Support team at the Dinh Tien Hoang Primary-Secondary-High School examination site in Tam Hiep ward. Bao Ngoc said, “During the 2026 National High School Graduation Exam, I participated in guiding and encouraging candidates by preparing small gifts such as water and candy, along with wishes for them to remain calm and confident in performing well in the exam. At the same time, I hope to receive similar support and encouragement before my own important exams in the future.”
Vo Minh Tuan Dung, Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union at Dong Nai College of Engineering and Technology, said that for this year’s Exam Season Support program, the college deployed about 30 volunteers at two main sites: Dinh Tien Hoang Primary-Secondary-High School and Le Quy Don High School in Tam Hiep ward. In addition, the college arranged volunteers to support its students taking examinations at Tran Bien High School, Ngo Quyen High School, and the Pedagogical Practice School. Before deployment, volunteers received training in candidate support skills, assisting parents, water distribution, and, when necessary, coordination with examination councils.
Nguyen My Linh, Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and Secretary of the Youth Union of Tam Hiep ward, said that during this year’s National High School Graduation Exam, there were eight examination sites in the ward, and the Ward Youth Union deployed eight support teams. Each site had 15–20 volunteers providing assistance before and during the examination. The volunteer teams distributed water, stationery, handheld fans, and other free support items to candidates and parents; guided candidates to examination areas; encouraged them before and after each subject; and assisted with rain protection and maintaining order when necessary.
Nguyen Tran Phuong Ha (second from left), Deputy Secretary of the City Youth Union, Chairwoman of the City Student Association, and Chairwoman of the City Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organization Council, said that in addition to teams supporting candidates during the examinations, the City Youth Union collaborated with universities, colleges, various units, and experts in the area before this examinations to strengthen online support activities, including psychological counseling, career guidance, and the sharing of study experiences, helping students prepare as thoroughly as possible in terms of both knowledge and mindset before taking this important exam.
...To community-oriented activities
Nguyen Minh Kien, Member of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the City Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, and Secretary of the City Youth Union, affirmed that Dong Nai City is gradually asserting its role as an important growth pole of the Southeastern region and the country, as well as a center for industrial development, logistics, trade and services, science, technology, and innovation. This context requires the city’s young generation not only to uphold their pioneering and volunteer spirit in community activities but also to truly become a vanguard force in digital transformation, innovation, scientific research, the application of new technologies and artificial intelligence, and the development of the digital economy and digital society.
In line with practical requirements and the city’s new development orientation, the City Youth Union has established nine targets for this year’s Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign. Many of these targets are associated with tasks in socio-economic development, building a civilized city, environmental protection, social welfare, youth startup support, and promoting innovation.
Specifically, during the campaign, each commune- and ward-level Youth Union is required to address at least one environmental pollution hotspot, plant 300 trees, support 17,000 disadvantaged children, provide career guidance to 23,000 young people, connect more than 9,000 young people with job opportunities, deliver startup training to at least 4,000 youths, and ensure that all eight border communes organize at least one social welfare volunteer program. Each commune and ward will establish a Digital Literacy Team to help enhance digital capacity for more than 176,000 young people and residents.
This year, the City Youth Union has also launched the Digital Summer Campaign to achieve the established targets, alongside traditional programs and campaigns such as the Exam Season Support program and the four campaigns: Red Flamboyant, Pink Vacation, Green Summer, and Green March. Digital Summer Campaign teams will focus on helping residents access and effectively use digital platforms, online public services, and applications that support daily life. They will organize activities to support youth startups on digital platforms, implement projects applying digital technology to serve the community, and organize creative competitions related to digital transformation. Through these activities, they will contribute to creating a strong breakthrough in community digital transformation, improving digital literacy among young people and residents, affirming the pioneering role of youth in building a digital society, and continuing to promote the noble values of the Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign and the blue shirt of Vietnamese youth throughout the community.
“The youth of Dong Nai will continue to strongly promote their pioneering, creative, and leading spirit across all fields so that the volunteer campaign remains vibrant, practical, and rich in value, making a worthy contribution to the city’s development.”

Vice Chairman of the City Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, and Secretary of the City Youth Union
