According to representatives of several supermarkets and shopping centers, both customer numbers and purchasing power rose by approximately 30–50% compared to a typical weekend. With the extended holiday period, the number of shoppers is expected to continue increasing in the remaining days as residents return to the city from their trips or hometown visits.
Le Duc Thuan, Director of Lotte Mart Dong Nai in Long Binh ward, Dong Nai City, said the number of customers at the supermarket and its service areas has increased by about 50% compared to a normal weekend. The supermarket has proactively increased its workforce and checkout counters and introduced a range of promotional programs and incentives to better serve residents during the holiday period.

Similarly, Trang Phuc, a representative of the Marketing Department at Co.opmart Bien Hoa in Tam Hiep ward, Dong Nai City, said the number of customers visiting and shopping at the supermarket during the first two days of the April 30–May 1 holiday rose by about 30% compared to a normal weekend. The supermarket is rolling out various promotions to stimulate consumption during the major holidays, alongside activities marking Co.opmart’s 30th anniversary.
