NA oversees key transport projects in Dong Nai City

On May 14, a working delegation from the National Assembly (NA)’s Committee for Economic and Financial Affairs, led by Nguyen Hong Dien, Member of the Party Central Committee and NA Vice Chairman, conducted an oversight visit to key national projects being implemented in Dong Nai City.

The NA delegation inspected the Bien Hoa–Vung Tau Expressway, Long Thanh International Airport, and Ho Chi Minh City’s Ring Road 4.

Reporting to the NA delegation, a representative of Project Management Board 85 under the Ministry of Construction said that the total investment for the Bien Hoa–Vung Tau Expressway project was initially estimated at more than 17.8 trillion VND and was later adjusted to over 21.5 trillion VND to ensure adequate funding for all project components. To date, the main routes of Component Projects 2 and 3 have been put into operation, while the main route of Component Project 1 is scheduled to open to traffic in May 2026.

Regarding the Long Thanh International Airport project, the Long Thanh Airport Project Management Board reported that major bidding packages are being accelerated to meet the target of commencing commercial operations for Phase 1 by the end of 2026. At present, 95% of the project’s imported equipment has been delivered to the construction site, with around 80% already installed. The Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) has also established a Long Thanh Airport branch to prepare for the operation and management of the country’s largest airport. Human resources for the reception, management, operation and exploitation of the airport have been adequately prepared.

Regarding the section of Ho Chi Minh City’s Ring Road 4 passing through Dong Nai, the City Construction Investment Project Management Board reported that construction of the service road under Component Projects 1-2 is scheduled to commence in June 2026. Meanwhile, construction of the main route under Component Project 2-2 is expected to begin in September 2026.

Speaking at the project sites during the oversight visit, Nguyen Hong Dien, NA Vice Chairman, requested relevant units to clarify several issues and difficulties arising during project implementation. For the Bien Hoa–Vung Tau Expressway project, it is necessary to accurately determine the completion timeline for remaining components, including toll stations and administrative buildings.

Regarding the Long Thanh International Airport project, NA Vice Chairman Nguyen Hong Dien emphasized the need to complete all project components in a synchronized manner to ensure readiness for commercial operations.

During the oversight visit, Nguyen Hong Dien, Vice Chairman of the NA, also presented gifts to encourage the workforce on the project sites.
