On May 25, Road Management Area IV under the Department for Roads of Vietnam coordinated with relevant agencies and the project investor to conduct a site inspection and agree on a traffic management plan to soon open all remaining ramps at the Long Thanh Interchange. The interchange connects the Ho Chi Minh City–Long Thanh–Dau Giay Expressway with the Bien Hoa–Vung Tau Expressway in Long Thanh ward, Dong Nai City.

Following the site inspection, the parties reached an in-principle agreement to fully open the interchange by late May. They also agreed to implement several additional measures, including installing supplementary traffic signs, prohibition signs, lane-direction signs, and road markings, and completing the warning system to ensure safety for road users.
According to Project Management Board 85, during the initial operational phase, the Long Thanh Interchange has opened only two ramps, providing access to the Bien Hoa–Vung Tau Expressway. Specifically, vehicles travel from Ramp No. 2 of T2 Road onto the Bien Hoa–Vung Tau Expressway and exit the expressway via Ramp N7 and Ramp No. 1 of T2 Road. At present, the route is open only to passenger cars with fewer than nine seats, with a maximum speed limit of 80 km/h and a minimum speed limit of 60 km/h.
According to the schedule, the remaining ramps at the Long Thanh Interchange are expected to open by late May 2026. These include Ramp 3, which connects traffic from the Bien Hoa–Vung Tau Expressway traveling in the direction from Bien Hoa to Vung Tau to merge onto the Ho Chi Minh City–Long Thanh–Dau Giay Expressway toward Dau Giay. Ramp 12 will serve vehicles traveling from Ho Chi Minh City to Dau Giay, enabling them to enter the Bien Hoa–Vung Tau Expressway and make a U-turn toward Bien Hoa. Ramp 4 will connect traffic traveling from Dau Giay toward Ho Chi Minh City with the Bien Hoa–Vung Tau Expressway heading to Bien Hoa. Meanwhile, Ramp 1 will allow vehicles from the Bien Hoa–Vung Tau Expressway to merge onto the Ho Chi Minh City–Long Thanh–Dau Giay Expressway toward National Highway 51 or Ho Chi Minh City, while Ramp 6 will enable vehicles from the Ho Chi Minh City–Long Thanh–Dau Giay Expressway to exit onto the Bien Hoa–Vung Tau Expressway toward Vung Tau.
According to relevant authorities, the greatest challenge is the risk of traffic conflicts at merging and diverging points where vehicles traveling from Bien Hoa or Vung Tau toward Ho Chi Minh City exit onto National Highway 51 at the Long Thanh Interchange. To ensure traffic safety during operations, the proposed traffic management plan includes installing additional rigid medians and guideposts and implementing early lane separation to help drivers clearly identify merging directions. In addition, road lane markings will be made more visible. Meanwhile, supplementary directional and advanced warning signs will be installed in combination with a gradual speed reduction in transition areas to minimize traffic safety risks. The investor has acknowledged the plan and directed contractors to promptly implement the proposed measures.Since May 18, 2026, more than 54 km of the main route of the Bien Hoa–Vung Tau Expressway has been put into operation. However, as only Ramp 2 of T2 Road at the Long Thanh Interchange has been opened, traffic circulation remains partially restricted.
At present, vehicles traveling from Bien Hoa, Trang Bom, or the former Binh Duong province area can only access the Bien Hoa–Vung Tau Expressway via the Vo Nguyen Giap Interchange and exit at Interchange 992 or National Highway 56, as the Long Thanh Interchange has not yet been fully opened.
Meanwhile, vehicles from Ho Chi Minh City, Long Thanh, or Nhon Trach entering the Bien Hoa–Vung Tau Expressway via Ramp 2 of T2 Road can currently travel only toward Vung Tau and are not yet able to head toward Bien Hoa. Vehicles traveling from Dau Giay and seeking to access the Bien Hoa–Vung Tau Expressway must exit onto National Highway 51 and make U-turns, as direct access has not yet been opened.
