Leaders of PPC’s Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilization pay traditional New Year visits to Khmer community

On the occasion the traditional Chol Chnam Thmay New Year of the Khmer ethnic community, on April 14, a working delegation from the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee (PPC)’s Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilization, led by Le Thi Thai, Member of the PPC and Deputy Head of the PPC’s Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilization, paid a New Year visit to religious institutions.

The delegation visited and extended New Year wishes to several pagodas, including Soc Lon and Sereyodom in Loc Hung commune; Cha La and Loc Thanh in Loc Thanh commune; Chang Hai in Loc Quang commune; Bo De Tong in Tan Tien commune; Bo De in Nha Bich commune; and Sreyvonsa in Binh Phuoc ward.

Earlier, the working delegation from Dong Nai PPC’s Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilization visited and extended New Year greetings to Thai Hoa Pagoda in Dinh Quan commune and Hoa Son Pagoda in Long Khanh ward.

At each stop, Le Thi Thai, Member of the PPC and Deputy Head of the PPC’s Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilization, conveyed warm New Year wishes for peace and happiness, while also inquiring about the health, living conditions, and daily activities of the pagodas’ management boards, monks, and Buddhist followers.

Le Thi Thai, Member of the PPC and Deputy Head of the PPC’s Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilization acknowledged the significant contributions of dignitaries, officials, and reputable individuals in mobilizing Buddhist followers, the Khmer community and local residents to comply with Party guidelines and State laws; actively participate in patriotic movements, contributing meaningfully to socio-economic development, the preservation of cultural identity, and the strengthening of national unity.

Chol Chnam Thmay New Year is the most significant traditional festival of the year for the Khmer community in Vietnam. It marks the beginning of the new year, providing an occasion to honor ancestors and pray for abundant harvests, good health, and happiness. Through visits and gift-giving activities organized by Party committees, authorities, and agencies from provincial to commune/ward levels, the Khmer people have been timely encouraged, helping them celebrate the New Year in a joyful and warm atmosphere.
