On April 19, 2026, the Standing Committee of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee issued a plan to organize activities commemorating the 140th anniversary of International Workers’ Day (May 1, 1886-2026) across the province, under the theme “Vietnamese workers: innovation, creativity, and enhancing labor productivity.”

The plan closely follows the guidance of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilisation. This year, no commemorative ceremonies will be held at either provincial or local levels. Instead, localities and units are tasked with organising commemorative activities in appropriate forms, including seminars, panel discussions, exhibitions, cultural and sports events, and meetings to honour and replicate exemplary models, technical improvement initiatives, and outstanding collectives and individuals in production, innovation, and digital transformation.

The plan also emphasizes caring for the material and spiritual well-being of workers; ensuring social security; improving working conditions, especially in industrial zones and enterprises with large numbers of workers; and promptly addressing arising issues, thereby contributing to maintaining socio-political stability in the province.

This year’s communication and commemorative activities will center on a series of key initiatives, including: the launch of Workers’ Month in association with the 2026 Action Month on Occupational Safety and Hygiene; programs such as “May Dialogue” and “Thank You to Workers”; activities to care for the material and spiritual lives of union members and workers; organising Workers’ Family Festival and Workers’ Cultural Festival events; panel discussions, consultations, healthcare services, and reproductive health check-ups for female workers; launching a peak month to promote innovation, encourage initiatives, improve technical processes, and enhance labor productivity; establishing Party organizations and trade unions at non-state enterprises; organizing the forum “Union Members Contribute to Building the Vietnam Trade Union in the New Era”; organizing a peak period for developing union members and establishing grassroots trade unions; introducing workers for Party membership; organizing a conference to commend exemplary worker and civil servant families in Dong Nai province for the 2021–2026 period; and organizing the “Workers’ Health Day” in 2026.

With the assigned tasks and requirements, the plan has provided timely direction and orientation for extensive communication work, raising awareness among officials, Party members, and people from all walks of life about the historical significance, value, and enduring spirit of International Workers’ Day. It also affirms the role, position, and mission of the Vietnamese working class and the Trade Union in the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation. At the same time, it encourages and motivates officials, union members, and workers to promote the tradition of solidarity and creativity, actively participate in production emulation, and contribute to the successful implementation of Dong Nai’s socio-economic development goals.
