On the morning of March 4, Huynh Thi Hang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee (PPC) and Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Nai province, attended the 2026 military handover ceremony at Regional Defense Command 3 – Dong Xoai under the Dong Nai Provincial Military Command.

Also attending were Nguyen Minh Hoi, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Head of the PPC’s Internal Affairs Commission; Giang Thi Phuong Hanh, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, and Chairwoman of the People’s Council of Binh Phuoc ward; Nguyen Quoc Dung, Member of the PPC, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, and Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor; Nguyen Anh Tuan, Member of the PPC and Director of the Department of Construction; and Colonel Nguyen Anh Duc, Deputy Commander of the Dong Nai Provincial Military Command and Commander of the Dong Nai Provincial Border Guard Command, along with other delegates. The event was also attended by 981 young people joining units of the Ministry of National Defense, Military Region 7, and the Dong Nai Provincial Military Command, as well as serving in the People’s Public Security.

Speaking at the ceremony, Huynh Thi Hang, Deputy Secretary of the PPC and Chairwoman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, praised and acknowledged the voluntary spirit of Dong Nai’s youth, including 981 young people from 24 communes and wards under Regional Defense Command 3 – Dong Xoai who volunteered to join the armed forces to defend the Fatherland.

Huynh Thi Hang, Deputy Secretary of the PPC, appreciated the work of the Provincial Military Service Council, particularly the Dong Nai Provincial Military Command, in advising the PPC and the Provincial People’s Committee to effectively implement the recruitment and selection of citizens for military service. Notably, the number of voluntary enlistment applications has increased year by year; province‑wide, the voluntary enlistment rate in 2026 exceeded 80 percent, especially in the communes and wards under Regional Defense Command 3 – Dong Xoai, where the rate surpassed 87 percent.

According to Huynh Thi Hang, Deputy Secretary of the PPC, the military and the public security forces provide an environment for young people to train, mature, and contribute to society, while strong national defense and security are essential conditions for the province’s overall development.

Huynh Thi Hang requested that each youth strictly comply with the law, military discipline, and unit regulations, striving to overcome difficulties and grow in the military environment. Dong Nai always looks forward to receiving good news from its young soldiers serving in their units.

The Deputy Secretary of the PPC also expressed gratitude to parents, who have raised and educated these outstanding young people willing to set aside their personal matters to enlist and defend the Fatherland. She also thanked the receiving military units for their continued care and support in helping Dong Nai’s young soldiers mature during their military service.

On behalf of the recruits, Nguyen Dang Thanh Hung, from Dong Tam commune under Regional Defense Command 3 - Dong Xoai, pledged to strive to overcome difficulties and successfully fulfill all assigned duties, worthy of being sons of Dong Nai and Uncle Ho’s soldiers in the Vietnam People’s Army.

Following the ceremony, provincial leaders moved to the “bridge of glory” area to present flowers and encourage the raw recruits heading to their units. Among the 981 soldiers from 24 communes and wards under Regional Defense Command 3 - Dong Xoai, there are 14 Party members; most of them have completed high school education (12 years), including nearly 20 percent holding intermediate, college, or university degrees.
