To connect localities in the province with Long Thanh Airport, according to the planning, Dong Nai province will implement projects to upgrade, expand and construct five provincial roads, including: 769, 769E, 773, 770B and the route connecting Ma Da Bridge to Ho Chi Minh City’s Ring Road 4. Among these, the projects to upgrade and expand Provincial Roads 769 and 773 have been included in the list of projects to be newly commenced in 2026.
Two projects expected to be launched in the second quarter of 2026
According to the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board, the project to upgrade and expand Provincial Road 769 is being implemented in Dau Giay, Binh An and Long Thanh communes, Dong Nai province. In early March 2026, the unit submitted a proposal to the Department of Construction for appraisal of the construction design following the basic design for the section from Km12+500 to the end of the route.
For this project, a key obstacle in the process of implementing investment procedures is the supplementation of planning for a grade-separated interchange (overpass) at the crossing with the Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City railway at Km1661+074. According to the Vietnam Railway Authority, it is necessary to construct a road overpass at this location (in accordance with the scale under the planning of Provincial Road 769), and at the same time remove the existing at-grade crossing once the overpass is completed.
The proposal to supplement this interchange planning has been regularly reported and recommended by the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board. Therefore, in order to ensure the approval of construction design and the implementation of construction works, the unit has proposed that this issue be resolved soon so that the project can be launched in the second quarter of 2026.
Meanwhile, construction is also expected to start on the project to upgrade and expand Provincial Road 773 at the end of the second quarter of 2026. For this project, in November 2025, the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board submitted a document proposing that the Provincial People’s Committee and the Department of Finance approve the capital allocation for 2026 to carry out subsequent implementation steps. Up to now, the investor has approved the results of contractor selection for packages covering the preparation of survey tasks, supervision of topographic and geological surveys; the preparation of construction design following the basic design phase; and supervision of construction for Package No. 06 under the subsequent contractor selection plan of the project.
In addition to these two projects, in mid-March 2026, at a working session with relevant units on public investment disbursement progress in the province, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Ut also requested that investment procedures be urgently completed in order to commence construction of the route connecting Ma Da Bridge to Ho Chi Minh City’s Ring Road 4 within 2026. This project is an important “component” in forming a transport axis connecting the northern area of the province with Long Thanh Airport and the Cai Mep - Thi Vai Port.

Early handover of cleared site for projects
According to Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Ho Van Ha, the provincial road projects connecting to Long Thanh Airport play a very important role in facilitating connectivity and promoting the province’s development in the coming period. To accelerate progress, one of the key factors is the early completion of site clearance for these projects.
For the project to upgrade and expand Provincial Road 769, according to the plan, compensation payment, support, resettlement arrangement and land handover to kick-start the project will be implemented from June to December 2026. For the project to upgrade and expand Provincial Road 773, the compensation, support and resettlement project for this route was also approved by the Provincial People’s Committee in early 2025, with the Provincial Land Fund Development Center assigned to implement this subproject.
Chu Tien Dung, Deputy Director of the Provincial Land Fund Development Center, stated that in 2026, the projects to upgrade and expand Provincial Roads 769 and 773, as well as the construction of Provincial Road 770B, are allocated significant funding to carry out site clearance. Up to now, the unit has coordinated with localities to issue land recovery notices and has begun inventory and measurement activities. “For these projects, the Provincial Land Fund Development Center and its branches are coordinating with localities to accelerate implementation”, he said.
According to the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board, for the project to construct Provincial Road 770B, in early March 2026, the unit submitted a document to the Department of Finance proposing the supplementation of the 2026 public investment capital plan for the project.
