According to a report presented by the Ministry of Construction (MoC) at the working session, Component Projects 1, 2 and 4 are proceeding on schedule.

As for Component Project 3, a key part of Phase 1, three out of 15 contract packages have been completed, with the remaining 12 under active construction.

The Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) reported that the total value of completed work under Component Project 3 has surpassed VND64 trillion, equivalent to over 74% of the total contracted value.

According to the MoC, most contract packages currently under construction for Component Project 3 are broadly on track. However, several packages still carry heavy workloads and face potential delays, notably Package 4.8 covering airside transport and technical infrastructure, and Package 5.10 involving passenger terminal construction.

The ministry therefore called on relevant agencies to keep reviewing each package and contractor, focusing on progress, material supply and workforce capacity, while requiring contractors to adhere firmly to the implementation schedule. Obstacles facing individual contractors should be clearly identified to enable timely resolution.

Reporting on transport routes connecting to Long Thanh Airport, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Ut said component projects of the Bien Hoa – Vung Tau expressway and Ring Road 3 of Ho Chi Minh City, both implemented by Dong Nai, are expected to be completed by the end of April 2026. The province is also accelerating other connecting projects under its management.

On material supply, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Ut affirmed his commitment that Dong Nai will ensure sufficient resources for construction. The province has also been drastically implementing specific measures in accordance with Notice No. 420 on conclusion of Party General Secretary To Lam at his working visit to the Long Thanh airport construction site in November 2025.

In his concluding remarks, PM Pham Minh Chinh commended the efforts of investors, local authorities and contractors, urging them to maintain momentum.

The government leader stressed that the Long Thanh airport project must be completed by the third quarter of 2026 at the latest, to enable commercial operations in the fourth quarter of 2026. To meet this target, the Prime Minister directed the MoC and the Ministry of Finance to immediately establish two task forces to resolve payment bottlenecks for contractors involved in two packages under Component Project 3, while ensuring adequate fuel and material supply to keep construction on track.
