Dong Nai ready to serve tourists during national reunification – May Day break

Dong Nai will organize several major events to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

Among them, two events that attract significant public interest are the Ceramics Festival and the Dong Nai Hot Air Balloon Festival in 2025, which will take place from April 27 to April 30, 2025, in Biên Hòa City. To meet the needs of sightseeing, entertainment, and accommodation for tourists, accommodation facilities have been prepared to welcome visitors.

Currently, the province has 136 tourist accommodation facilities with a total of nearly 3,800 rooms. Among them, 14 facilities are rated from 1 to 5 stars. The locality with the most accommodation facilities is Bien Hoa City, with nearly 80 establishments and over 1,500 rooms; Tan Phu District and Long Khanh City are the second biggest areas with about 13 facilities. The accommodation facilities have promotional policies to stimulate tourism during the April 30 and May 1 holiday.  

Offering promotions during the holiday  

In the series of events commemorating the the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification in the province, the Hot Air Balloon Festival will be the first event to open on the morning of April 27, at Son Tien Ecotourism City Company in Bien Hoa City. The Hot Air Balloon Festival will gather 50 hot air balloons symbolizing 50 years of southern liberation and national reunification. This is the largest hot air balloon festival ever held in Vietnam.  

During this time, to serve tourists who want to stay longer to participate in other commemorative events in Dong Nai and nearby areas, Son Tien Island resort in Son Tien Tourist Park with 50 accommodation rooms is ready to serve guests who need accommodation with prices ranging from over 1.8 to 4.6 million VND/room/night (depending on room type and time of stay, weekdays, weekends, holidays).  

Also on April 27, in the afternoon, the Bien Hoa Traditional Ceramics Festival will be opened at the provincial Event and Foreign Affairs Center. At the Ceramics Festival, visitors will witness each ceramic piece, listen to stories about the ceramics profession through seminars and discussions, and admire the profound cultural values from timeless ceramic products. The exhibition will feature unique artistic ceramic products with high cultural and aesthetic value; introducing the history, production process, and development of the Bien Hoa ceramics profession.  

To welcome residents and tourists from other places for sightseeing and entertainment at the events, the hotel system in Bien Hoa City is ready to welcome guests. Some large hotels such as: The Mira Central Park rated 5 stars, Aurora 4 stars, Đồng Nai Hotel 3 stars, and nearly 100 hotels and guesthouses are always ready to serve tourists.  

Huynh Quoc Bao, Director of Dong Nai Tourism Joint Stock Company, said that the company manages and operates two hotels, Dong Nai and Hoa Binh, along with several conference centers and restaurants. To meet the needs for accommodation and dining, Dong Nai Tourism Joint Stock Company is ready to welcome tourists. According to Bao, the two hotels, Dong Nai and Hoa Binh, are located right in the center of Bien Hoa City, making it very convenient for guests to attend events or visit Biên Hòa City at night.  

Le Thi Ngoc Loan, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said that the department recommends accommodation, travel, and service businesses to hold promotional programs regarding prices, services, and enhance experiences for tourists. Encouraging tourism areas, accommodation facilities, tourist transport, and other service businesses to have appropriate promotional policies for tourists.  

Ensuring safety for tourism and accommodation activities  

During peak tourist and festival seasons, the issue of ensuring security, order, and health safety for tourists is always a concern for the relevant authorities and tourism and accommodation businesses.  

To ensure safe leisure and exploration activities in Dong Nai during the April 30 holiday,Deputy Director of Sports and Tourism Management Nguyen Van Hau stated that the holiday for April 30 and International Labor Day (May 1) will last for 5 days. During this time, Dong Nai will organize major events that attract many locals and tourists to visit and stay at tourist sites, hotels…

The department has issued a notice, requiring the management boards of tourist areas and sites, accommodation facilities, as well as service businesses in the province to proactively develop plans and strategies to serve tourists during the April 30 and May 1 holiday. Accordingly, establishments must strictly adhere to regulations on price listing and sell at the listed prices; advertise correctly the type and category of accommodation facilities recognized by the competent state authorities. For parking services in the tourist areas and sites, it is requested that units clearly display specific prices.

Director of the Department of Le Thi Ngoc Loan announced that the department has just announced the Tourism stimulus program for 2025 with the message "Dong Nai - Come to Experience". Through the province's tourism stimulus program, the department hopes to facilitate the attraction of tourists to visit and relax in Dong Nai, contributing to maintaining Dong Nai's tourism development at double digits; at the same time, enhancing the experience of tourism services for visitors through a variety of rich and quality tourism programs.
