The 2026–2027 National Excellent Student Selection Exam is expected to be held in December 2026. Each province and city will have one examination council, while the Ministry of Education and Training will oversee the preparation of examination papers for all subjects. Exam invigilation will be conducted through cross-assignments of invigilators among provinces and cities.
Dong Nai City’s team this year comprises 180 students competing in nine subjects, with 20 students in each subject: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Literature, History, Geography, English and Informatics.
The team is anchored by outstanding students from Binh Long High School for the Gifted, Luong The Vinh High School for the Gifted and Quang Trung High School for the Gifted. Students from other high schools are also represented, including Tran Bien, Hung Vuong, Nguyen Trai, Tam Hiep, Tri An and Xuan Loc high schools, as well as Asia Bilingual College. Notably, Asia Bilingual College is the only private school in the city with two students selected for the national academic excellence team, both competing in English.
At the 2025–2026 National Excellent Student Selection Exam, Dong Nai’s students won 96 awards: one first prize in Biology, 20 second prizes, 29 third prizes and 46 consolation prizes. The first-prize winner was Vu Hong Anh, a Grade 12 student in a specialized Mathematics class at Quang Trung High School for the Gifted.
