The Dong Nai Federation of Labour has recently honored 97 outstanding production workers for their achievements in the “Good Work, Creative Work” emulation campaign for 2024-2025. The move is expected to encourage a stronger emulation spirit among workers, particularly as Dong Nai is implementing a special 500-day-and-night emulation campaign themed “Solidarity – Discipline – Efficiency – Breakthrough for a civilized and modern Dong Nai.”

One of the key goals of the special emulation campaign is to maintain double-digit economic growth while ensuring balanced cultural and social development, national defense and security, and improved living standards. Achieving this goal requires the concerted efforts of the entire political system, the public and the business community, with workers playing an important role in raising productivity and quality, improving production and business efficiency, strengthening competitiveness and increasing business revenues.

In reality, as automation and digital transformation accelerate, machinery and technology are playing an increasingly important role in boosting productivity. However, workers remain the decisive factor. No matter how advanced the technology is, its effectiveness ultimately depends on workers' ability to master, operate and apply it effectively, while continuously improving technological processes to meet practical production needs.

The effectiveness of the “Good Work, Creative Work” emulation campaign for 2022-2025 is reflected in the nearly 75,000 initiatives developed by union members and workers across Dong Nai, generating VND572 billion in economic benefits for businesses and organizations. These figures represent not only economic value but also workers' creativity, sense of responsibility and ability to make direct contributions to the development of businesses and the locality.

In recent years, trade unions at all levels have launched various emulation campaigns tailored to the characteristics of different sectors, organizations and businesses. These have included honoring outstanding production workers and organizing innovative startup competitions. Many businesses have also offered rewards and salary increases to workers who come up with useful initiatives, encouraging them to continuously improve and innovate in their work.

At the same time, Dong Nai is promoting the development of an innovative ecosystem and encouraging people, businesses and organizations to pursue innovation-driven startups based on digital and emerging technologies. This is creating a favorable environment for workers' creativity and innovation to flourish in production and the workplace.

To improve labor productivity and quality, workers need to develop professional and disciplined working habits, proactively acquire new knowledge, strengthen their professional expertise and digital skills, and continuously seek ways to improve and innovate based on practical experience. Trade unions should continue to support workers and call on businesses to provide vocational and digital skills training while creating favorable conditions for workers to develop and apply their initiatives in production.

With a workforce of more than 1.4 million, Dong Nai has substantial potential to drive breakthroughs from its production lines, factories and businesses. Every initiative and improvement, whether large or small, can help raise productivity and product quality and strengthen business competitiveness, thereby making a practical contribution to the city's goal of double-digit economic growth and sustainable development.
