Two Dong Nai students honored for winning int’l medals in AI and office computing

The Dong Nai Department of Education and Training (DoET) on the afternoon of August 15 held a ceremony to meet with, honor, and present special commendations to two outstanding students who won medals at international competitions in 2026.

The two students honored were Do Le Tuan Kiet of Thai Binh Duong Primary-Middle-High School in Tran Bien Ward, and Le Minh Quan of Quang Trung High School for the Gifted in Binh Phuoc Ward.

At the 2026 Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship in the United States, Do Le Tuan Kiet won a bronze medal in the Microsoft Excel (Office 2019) category. In addition to demonstrating strong IT skills, Tuan Kiet has achieved outstanding results across multiple fields, with an IELTS score of 8.0, an SAT score of 1,510/1,600, and second prize in English at the Dong Nai city-level excellent-student competition for the 2025-2026 school year.

Meanwhile, at the 2026 International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (IOAI), recently held in Kazakhstan, Le Minh Quan won a bronze medal in AI programming. His achievement made an important contribution to Vietnam's delegation finishing among the leading teams at the competition. Quan was also recently admitted to the University of Information Technology under Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City.

On the occasion, DoET also presented certificates of merit to two teachers from Thai Binh Duong Primary, Lower Secondary, and Upper Secondary School, and Quang Trung High School for their outstanding contributions to coaching and supporting the students in their successful participation in international competitions.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Dang Anh Tuan conveyed congratulations and praise from the leaders of Dong Nai city to the two students, their families, and their schools. He emphasized that the achievements of Le Minh Quan and Do Le Tuan Kiet were a source of honor and pride for the entire education sector and added significantly to Dong Nai's record of achievements.

Dr. Dang Anh Tuan said the achievements were well-deserved recognition of the students' continuous efforts, together with the close support of their families and schools. Their recent major awards at domestic and international competitions, he said, would provide a solid foundation for them to advance further in their academic pursuits. In the future, they are expected to become talented young intellectuals with a strong sense of patriotism, contributing to the development of Dong Nai and the country in the new era.

To encourage the two outstanding students who won medals at international competitions, the leader of DoET said it would propose that the Chairman of the Dong Nai City People's Committee present Diplomas of Merit to Do Le Tuan Kiet and Le Minh Quan at the conference reviewing the 2025-2026 school year and launching tasks for the 2026-2027 school year, which is expected to be held in the near future.
