Promoting cultural values among workers is an urgent requirement to build a workforce that is highly skilled, resilient, and grounded in strong ethics and a healthy lifestyle.

Fostering a cultural lifestyle for workers

Along with the rapid development of industrial parks, Dong Nai attracts an increasingly large and diverse workforce with varying qualifications, backgrounds, and living environments. This reality poses a challenge to building cultural life, especially when some workers still face difficulties in their living conditions and lack healthy cultural and recreational spaces. In addition, the digital environment significantly affects workers' perceptions, behaviors, and lifestyles.

In response to this situation, the Trade Union organization and the business community have proactively implemented measures to improve workers' spiritual and cultural life. Activities such as building cultural institutions, organizing sports festivals, art performances, skill clubs, libraries, and community living spaces are increasingly being held, creating useful spaces for workers to interact, learn, and develop comprehensively.

Promoting cultural values among workers in the new era is not only an immediate task but also a long-term strategy to build a high-quality workforce that meets the country’s development needs amid integration and digital transformation.

Vice Chairwoman of the City Labor Federation BUI THI BICH THUY

Bui Thi Bich Thuy, Vice Chairwoman of the City Labor Federation, said that the trade union's integration of building worker culture with legal propaganda, professional ethics education, and labor discipline awareness is yielding positive results. Many models are also associated with legal education, life skills, labor discipline awareness, and social responsibility. Many businesses have established codes of conduct and corporate cultures that emphasize social responsibility, thereby fostering a professional, respectful, and sharing work environment.

Le Mong Hoang, Chairman of the grassroots Trade Union of Freewell Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Dong Phu ward), said that to build a cultural life for workers, the company has coordinated with the Trade Union to promote emulation movements in labor and production and improve workers' skills, while also organizing many practical cultural, arts, and sports activities. These efforts not only create a positive working environment and strengthen connections among employees, but also foster discipline, an industrial work ethic, and a healthy lifestyle among the workforce.

Notably, in recent years, the application of digital technology in developing worker culture has opened up many new directions, suitable for the current digital transformation context. Online platforms and social networks are effectively exploited to convey positive information, spread good values, and strengthen connections within the worker community. Through this, workers have the opportunity to access knowledge quickly and conveniently, thereby raising awareness and skills and gradually forming a civilized and modern lifestyle.

Building a healthy working environment

In practice, many enterprises in Dong Nai have proactively built modern working environments associated with corporate culture development. Training programs on digital skills, soft skills, occupational safety awareness, and workplace behavior are conducted regularly. Some organizations also leverage internal social networks to connect workers, share positive information, and build a united and responsible workforce community.

At the same time, Trade Unions are innovating their methods of operation by applying technology to improve workers’ spiritual well-being. From organizing online competitions and discussion forums to providing legal knowledge through digital platforms, these initiatives enrich cultural life and enhance workers’ awareness.

Despite achieving many positive results, elevating workers' culture in the digital transformation era remains challenging. Some workers still have limited technological skills and are vulnerable to harmful and toxic information in cyberspace. Working and living conditions in certain industrial zones remain inadequate and have yet to meet workers' growing cultural needs. Some workers also face pressures related to work, income, and housing, leaving them with limited opportunities to participate in cultural and spiritual activities.

According to Le Mong Hoang, Chairman of the grassroots Trade Union of Freewell Vietnam Co., Ltd., the digitalization process has had a profound impact on workers' workplace environment. From smart and automated production lines to online management platforms, all require workers to keep learning and adapting. In this context, workers' culture is not limited to industrial work style and discipline, but also extends to continued learning to improve skills and to conduct themselves in a modern working environment.

To sustainably promote cultural values among workers, coordinated efforts are needed from the State, businesses, and Trade Unions. More importantly, each worker must take initiative in self-improvement, actively participate in cultural activities, develop skills, and build a disciplined, responsible, and healthy lifestyle. When culture becomes both a foundation and a driving force, the workforce will not only excel professionally but also contribute to building a progressive and civilized society.
