On March 7, in celebration of International Women’s Day (March 8), many grassroots trade unions across Dong Nai province organized a variety of lively activities and contests for union members and workers.

Specifically, the grassroots trade union of Pouchen Vietnam Co., Ltd. in Bien Hoa ward organized a fashion design contest using recycled materials for workers. The event was attended by Bui Thi Bich Thuy, Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Dong Nai Labor Federation.

The contest attracted 16 teams, each presenting two categories: evening wear and a free-style outfit. Notably, all costumes were designed from recycled materials such as fabric, paper, old newspapers and plastic bags. Through the event, organizers aimed to honor the graceful beauty of Vietnamese women while showcasing the creativity and skill of workers in fashion design. The contest also conveyed a message encouraging environmental protection, urging workers to join hands in reducing waste in both daily life and production activities at enterprises.

Meanwhile, the trade union of Pou Phong Vietnam Co., Ltd. in An Vien commune organized a sweet dessert cooking contest with the participation of 19 teams. Within 60 minutes, contestants introduced distinctive flavors of traditional Vietnamese sweet soups from different regions, including pomelo sweet soup, avocado sweet soup, nourishing sweet soup, among others. At the end of the contest, the organizing committee presented 19 prizes, including one first prize, two second prizes, three third prizes, four fourth prizes, and nine consolation prizes.

Nguyen Minh Tam, Chairman of the company’s trade union, said it was the first time the unit had organized such a contest, yet it received enthusiastic participation from female workers. The activity helped strengthen connections and exchanges among female workers from different production workshops.

On the same day, the grassroots trade union of TKG Taekwang Vina J.S Company in Bien Hoa 2 Industrial Park, Tran Bien ward, organized a gathering to honor outstanding female workers in 2025.

During the event, the trade union reviewed the tradition of International Women’s Day on March 8, while also honoring 350 outstanding female employees who have contributed to the company’s sustainable development in recent years.

TKG Taekwang Vina currently employs nearly 35,000 workers, with female employees accounting for more than 85 percent of the workforce. To mark International Women’s Day, the trade union’s Executive Board also organized a series of activities, including an artistic flower arrangement contest with the participation of 20 teams from different production workshops.
