According to Do Thanh Phuong, Deputy Director of the Department of Construction, Dong Nai province is expected to start construction on 23 social housing projects in 2026, with a total scale of more than 21,800 apartments.

Specifically, seven projects with more than 8,000 apartments are scheduled to get underway in the first quarter. This will be followed by nine projects in the second quarter, providing over 8,200 apartments. The remaining projects are planned to be launched in the third quarter of the year.

In the first two months of 2026, Dong Nai recorded the highest number of newly started social housing apartments nationwide, with four projects comprising more than 4,400 units. However, according to the Department of Construction, several projects scheduled to begin in the first quarter have yet to meet the planned timeline due to delays in completing procedures related to land allocation and environmental requirements. Therefore, the department has urged project investors to step up efforts and closely coordinate with provincial departments and agencies to finalize legal procedures and ensure that construction begins as scheduled.
