(ĐN)- A memorial ceremony and reburial of remains of 13 martyrs who died in the resistance war against the US imperialists held on Oct 30 at Long Thanh’s Martyrs Cemetery.
The remains, together with hammocks, rubber sandals, ink pens, mirrors, watches and photos were uncovered on September 9 in the district’s Bau Can commune by local functional forces following a report from a local resident who is a war veteran.
The ceremony was attended by Secretary of Dong Nai’s Party Committee Nguyen Phu Cuong, Head of the provincial Commission for Popularization and Education, Vice Chairman of People’s Council Nguyen Son Hung and Vice Chairwoman of People’s Committee Nguyen Hoa Hiep.
A requiem was also held to commemorate these martyrs. A moving oration was delivered in praise of the heroic sacrifice of the martyrs before their burial at the district martyrs’ cemetery.
