Addressing at the ceremony, Chairman of the province’s Vietnam-Republic of Korea Friendship Association Nguyen Minh Hung highlighted the strong growth of Vietnam-RoK ties over the past 20 years in various fields, especially in economics and culture, adding that that RoK is currently the biggest investor in the province with total registered capital of US$5.8 billion, thus, creating jobs for people in Dong Nai and other localities.
In addition, many funds, associations, non-government organizations of RoK have sponsored VND16.4 billion for many charity programs and projects in the province. Since 1996, Dong Nai and RoK’s Gyeongnam provinces have signed friendship cooperation agreement, he added.
For his part, RoK Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City Lim Jae-hoon thanked for sincere affections of authorities and people in Dong Nai to RoK, adding his wish that the traditional friendship between the two countries will develop to the new height, meeting the aspiration of the people in the two countries.
On this occasion, the Vietnam-RoK Friendship Chapter of Posco Vietnam Company made its debut. This is the third chapter of Vietnam-RoK Friendship Associaition in Dong Nai, after two chapters had been set up at Lac Hong and Dong Nai Universities.
The province’s Vietnam-RoK Friendship Association also presented 15 scholarships to students from disadvantaged backgrounds in the province.
