The expressway will replace National Highway No 20, which is overloaded with more than 15,000 vehicles per day. It will connect HCM City, Dong Nai Province and Lam Dong Province.
The new expressway will have four lanes and a designed speed of 100-120km per hour.
It is divided into three sections: Dau Giay- Tan Phu, Tan Phu- Bao Loc and Bao Loc- Lien Khuong.
The first section will be invested in the form of Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) with total capital of VND7 trillion ($300 million). The 66km section is expected to be completed in 2020.
The second section will have total length of 66km with an investment of VND17 trillion ($729 million). The third section will be 73km long, with total investment VND13 trillion ($557 million).
Completion of the entire project is expected by 2030.
The Dau Giay- Lien Khuong Expressway is part of Vietnam’s master plan for an expressway network to 2030.
