(ĐN)- The Ministry of Information and Communications and Health Ministry on January 18 held a ceremony to award prizes to 36 outstanding works of the national writing competition to combat smoking.
Started in May last year, the contest received 205 works under four categories - printed newspapers, online newspapers, TV broadcasting and radio broadcasting – in eight months.
The organizers awarded one first, two second, three third and three consolation prizes for each category. Accordingly, Phuong Lieu, a journalist from Dong Nai Newspaper, won first prize in category for online newspapers for her work “Tobacco and heart-breaking corollaries”.
The writing competition is among the activities to mark World No Tobacco Day (May 31), an annual World Health Organisation event to inform people of the dangers of smoking and the tobacco industry.
