(ĐN) - Dong Nai AO/dioxin Victims Association on January 17 held a ceremony to celebrate its 10th anniversary of foundation. Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Hoa Hiep of the provincial People’s Committee attended the event.

Vice Chairwoman said the toxic AO/dioxin used by the US army during the war in Vietnam dispossessed millions of Vietnamese people of the right to a normal, healthy life. Many of them were afflicted with disabilities and their offspring suffered inborn deformities.

For many years, the Party, authorities as well as people in the province gave spiritual and material support to help AO victims and their families. However, the lives of AO victims were still difficult due to ongoing sicknesses.

Hiep took this occasion to call on related deparments and agencies to continue efforts to overcome the consequences of AO/dioxin, effectively implement the State’s policies for the victims and people who rendered services during wartime, and call for public to join hands to contribute to reducing the pain of AO victims.

On this occasion, 36 collectives and individuals received certificates of merit for their outstanding achievements in the period of 2006-2016.
