The LILAMA 2 Technical and Technology College in the southern province of Dong Nai has become the first vocational school in Vietnam to provide training programmes under Level 6 (665) of the 8-level UNESCO-ISCED 2011 standards.
The announcement was recently made by its Vice Principal Nguyen Khanh Cuong.
The school will enrol 150 students for the 2015-2016 academic year in welding technology, industrial electronics and mechanical tool manufacturing.
After graduating, based on UNESCO standards, students will receive British Accreditation Council qualifications which are accepted in more than 80 countries around the world.
The International Standard Classification of Education (or ISCED) was developed by UNESCO to facilitate comparisons of education statistics and indicators across countries on the basis of uniform and internationally agreed upon definitions.
In 2011, a revision to the ISCED was formally adopted by UNESCO member states.
