(ĐN)- On the occasion of the 100th birthday of Nguyen Van Ky, a former Secretary of Bien Hoa Party Committee, Dong Nai provincial Fatherland Front Committee in cooperation with his family awarded 55 scholarships totaling VND140 million to poor students with high achievements in study.
Established in 2012, Nguyen Van Ky Scholarship Fund aims to encourage disadvantaged students to better themselves and successfully accomplish their studies. So far, the fund awarded scholarships worth VND1.7 billion to 671 students. The scholarships are funded by Mrs Le Thi Tru, former Secretary Nguyen Van Ky’s 93-year-old wife.
Among the recipients, 72 graduated from universities and got stable jobs; others also achieved good academic.
