(ĐN)- In response to the first Asean Day of Dengue Fever (June 15), Dong Nai will launch a mosquito control campaign from June 11-12. The province will spray chemicals in 29 communes and wards of the province including the ten wards of Bien Hoa city: Long Binh, Trang Dai, Hoa An, Hoa An, Ho Nai, Tam Hiep, Tam Hoa, Tan Bien, Tan Hoa and Thong Nhat where have been hit hard by the disease in order to kill the mosquitoes and mosquito larva and reduce the risk of dengue fever. In addition, the province will focus on increasing public awareness to prevent and control dengue fever.
A total of 1,162 cases with three deaths have been reported across Dong Nai province since the beginning of this year. This figure represented an increase of 70 per cent from the same period last year.
