Dong Nai honors blood donors

(ĐN) – Dong Nai provinces Steering Committee on Voluntary Blood Donations on April 7 held a conference to review its activities in 2010.

According to the report, a total of 18,798 units of blood were collected in 2010, fufilling 117.5 percent of the years target; of which, 13,000 units have been collected through Red Spring Festival and summer blood donation campaigns launched by the provincial Red Cross Association.

The province targets to collect 18,400 units of blood this year in order to provide enough blood for the treatment of patients in the province.

On this occasion, the provincial People’s Committee and Dong Nai Red Cross Association awarded certificates of merit to 136 collectives and individuals who actively participated in humanitarian blood donation campaigns. Especially, Vinh Cuu districts Red Cross Chapter received emulation flag from the Vietnam Red Cross Association.
