Nearly VND38 bil raised to help poor women

(ĐN)- Dong Nai Women’s Union has recently held a ceremony to review its activities and the women movements in 2010. Accordingly, the union has made reasonable efforts to support women under difficult circumstances, develop women’s movements and raise the quality of activities of women’s associations at all levels.

Accordingly, the union has made reasonable efforts to support women under difficult circumstances, develop women’s movements and raise the quality of activities of women’s associations at all levels.

In 2010, the union provided loans totaling nearly VND38 billion to help 31,691 members to stabilize production and improve living condition.   

Besides, the women associations at all levels raised VND6.2 billion from rich women to provide loans with an interest rate of 0 percent for more than 5,000 poor members.

The union’s movements were closely connected with the campaign “Study and Follow President Ho Chi Minh’s moral examples”. Accordingly, the union saved approximately VND1 billion to build charity houses, award scholarships and help poor households.

In 2011, the union will continue its efforts to proactively understood women’s demand and aspiration, develop core members as a motive force for the strong development of women’s movements in the province.
