(ĐN)- 86 teams from universities and colleges throughout the South have gathered at the Rach Mieu Sports House, Phu Nhuan district, HCM City to take part in the qualifying round of Robocon Vietnam 2010 contest. This year, there were 14 teams from Dong Nai-based Lac Hong University participating in the regional qualifying round. The competition concluded on Friday, April 9. As a result, the organising board has selected 12 teams for the final round, which will be held from May 10-16 in Buon Ma Thuot City, Dac Lac province. 8 teams from Lac Hong University along with other 4 teams from HCM City Polytechnic University will advance to the national final competition. From there, the national champion will go on to represent Vietnam in Asia-Pacific Robocon 2010 contest in Cairo, Egypt in September.

The theme this year is “Robocon builds pyramid”. The theme is based on ideas to build three pyramids Khufu, Khafraa and Mankaura in Egypt.
First appearing in 2003, ROBOCON has become an annual contest for students in the field of technology from every university and college in the Asia-Pacific region.
