(ĐN)- From 2004 until June 2009, Dong Nai provincial Fatherland Front Committee raised more than VND34 billion to support the poor and natural calamity victims nationwide. Particularly, the committee mobilized over VND17.8 billion to build 1,519 charitable houses for poor families and 628 others for ethnic minority households, present Tet gifts to the poor, award scholarships to outstanding poor students, etc. The province’s Natural Calamity Fund also received more than VND16.6 billion to assist typhoon victims.
