In 2009, the district’s Fatherland Front Committee, armed forces and organizations raised over VND7 billion to build 95 charity houses, presented more than 2,000 gifts to poor and ethnic minority people, gave bicycles to studious poor students, provided free medical check-ups and medicines to local poor people, upgraded rural roads, etc.
