(ĐN)- Thong Nhat district’s leaders on Friday had a meeting with Catholic and Protestant dignitaries in the locality on the occasion of Christmas 2009.
Thong Nhat has now 25 parishes, 26 catholic churches and 2 protestant churches with nearly 120,00 followers. During the past years, Catholic and Protestant followers in the district have contributed almost VND3 billion to upgrade and build over 15 km of rural roads, provided free medical check-ups and medicines for poor paitients, built houses and presented gifts for the poor … with a total of more than VND 1.5 billion.
At the meeting, the district’s leaders hailed the Church’s active contributions to the local socio-economic development and they also extended Christmas greetings and wishes of good to Catholic and Protestant dignitaries and followers in the locality.
