In 2009, Catholic followers in the province has made practical contributions to socio-charitable activities. Particularly, nearly VND58 billion was raised to build charity houses, award scholarships, upgrade traffic roads, offer free medical check-ups and medicine, care for orphans, single elders and HIV-affected people, provide vocational training courses, organize seminars on drug prevention and social evils control.
At the meeting, the province’s Committee for Catholic Solidarity set tasks for 2010. Accordingly, more active efforts will be made to raise funds for the poor, actively respond to patriotic emulation movements.
