Dong Nai supports VND1.4 bil to flooded provinces

(ĐN)- Dong Nai province’s Fatherland Front Committee has decided to provide VND1.4 billion from its relief fund to assist flood victims in the central region and central highlands.

(ĐN)- Dong Nai province’s Fatherland Front Committee has decided to provide VND1.4 billion from its relief fund to assist flood victims in the central region and central highlands.

Particularly, the provinces of Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Quang Tri, Kon Tum, Binh Dinh, Thua Thien-Hue and Da Nang city will receive VND200 million each.

Earlier, the committee has made an appeal to local organizations and people to make donations for Typhoon Ketsana victims.

Ketsana, the ninth tropical storm to hit Vietnam this season, caused 163 deaths with 11 missing and 634 injured people. It destroyed nearly 21,613 houses and more than 38,507 ha of rice, 22,367 ha of corn.

The storm also damaged 258,415 houses, 5,490 classrooms, 12,741 offices and public spaces and hundreds of kilometers of roads and dikes.
