Dong Nai reports 1,067 cases of A/H1N1 flu

The first victim was a nine-year-old child from Hang Gon commune, Long Khanh townlet. He became sick on August 29 but he was sent to Long Khanh General Hospital five days later. Then, he was moved to Dong Nai province’s Paediatrics Hospital and died on September 9.

The second one was a 16-year-old girl who lived in Xuan Que commune, Cam My district - who was 39-weeks pregnant. She was hospitalised in Dong Nai province with symptoms of exhausting and breathing difficulties. She was later moved to a major hospital in Ho Chi Minh City, the Cho Ray Hospital for better treatment and died on September 29 but her baby was saved.

Both cases have tested positive for the A/H1N1 virus.

The provincial health sector has set up temporary hospitals to cope with the increasing spread of A/H1N1 in the province.

Besides, local health officials encouraged slightly affected patients to stay at home for treatment through doctors when the number of patients increases day by day. They also said that those with serious symptoms have to be sent to hospitals for treatment.
