Vietnam donated VND400 million to support Typhoon Ketsana victims on Tuesday in the provinces of Thua Thien-Hue, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai and Kon Tum. The charity foundation of the company, Cargill Cares, plans to build schools in areas badly damaged by the typhoon.
Cargill Vietnam and its staff contributed half of the money and half was donated by Cargill Inc. (the U.S.).
Cargill Cares, established in 1996, has so far collected VND28 billion to build 32 schools in rural areas and to relieve natural disasters in Vietnam.
