More than VND18 billion raised to promote study activities

(ĐN)- On August 28, Long Thanh district’s Study Promotion Association held a meeting to review its activities in the past years.

Over the last eight years, the association raised more than VND18 billion for study promotion activities and mobilized nearly two hectares of land to build three primary schools, one kindergarten and one junior high school.

Particularly, “Fostering Vietnamese Young Talents” program funded by Tan Mai Paper Company offered annual scholarships valued at VND8 million each to 50 university students and VND1 million each to 50 high school students. The association awarded “Giving Strength for Students” scholarships worth a total of over VND600 million to 193 local poor students.

In 2008, the association was awarded the excellent emulation flag by Vietnam Study Promotion Association for its achievements in study encouragement activities
