(ĐN)- Late last week, Dong Nai provincial Red Cross Association organized a meeting to review its activities in the first half of 2009.
As known, the association and its chapters at all levels have raised more than VND25 billion during the past six months for social and charity activities, fulfilling nearly 60 percent of the year’s plan, increasing 13.6 percent compared to the same period of last year.
The association called on its grassroots chapters to coordinate closely with local authorities to encourage local people to participate in humanitarian blood donation activities, improve food safety and hygiene programs, etc.
In the coming time, the grassroots chapters will concentrate on helping policy families, poor people and minority ethnic people, boosting the campaign “Each organization, each individual associated with one humanitarian address”.
