(ĐN)- Green Innovation as the key to a secure future has been announced as the focus for World Intellectual Property Day 2009 by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
Each year World IP Day is celebrated across the globe on 26 April. It was established to highlight the significance of creativity and innovation in peoples daily lives and in the betterment of society.
As human activity caused the problem, so too can human activity find the solutions. Green innovation – the development and diffusion of technological means to tackle climate change – is key to halting the depletion of the earth’s resources.
On World IP Day 2009, WIPO highlights the contribution of a balanced intellectual property system to stimulating the creation, diffusion and application of clean technologies; to promoting green design, aimed at creating products that are eco-friendly from conception to disposal; to green branding, helping consumers make informed choices and giving companies a competitive edge.
Dong Nai will organize various activities to celebrate World IP Day 2009. Accordingly, the Provincial Department of Science and Technology held a meeting with representatives from media agencies in Dong Nai on April 14 to discuss the coordination in helping to increase public understanding on World IP Day. In addition, the Department will organize a series of activities with the purpose of encouraging local enterprises to engage in environmental protection, such as seminars and others.
