(ĐN)- A conference was held in Dinh Quan district, Dong Nai province on April 15 to review traffic order and safety work in 2008 and set tasks for 2009.
During the last year, the district authorities has paid great attention to ensuring traffic order and safety. Accordingly, besides the education of people about traffic laws, strict measures were taken constantly to minimize traffic accidents. The district has imposed a serious punishment for traffic violations. In 2008, 37 traffic accidents have killed 40 people, a year-on-year decrease of 2 accidents and 6 deaths
In 2009, the district will concentrate on reducing traffic accidents and traffic jams as well as enhancing the work of ensuring traffic order and safety. Accordingly, the district will focus on raising people’s awareness of the traffic laws, increasing the investigations and punishment of violations.
On the occasion, 7 units and 14 individuals received certificates of merit of the district’s Traffic Safety Committee for their efforts in ensuring traffic order and safety on land roads.
