(ĐN)- A launching ceremony for the Month of Action for Food Safety and Hygiene was held at Dong Nai province’s Sporting Hall on May 2.
Doctor Tu Thanh Chuong, Director of the provincial Health Department, Deputy Head of the provincial Steering Committee for ensuring Food Safety and Hygiene, said that the 2008 action month for food safety would last from April 15 to May 15 and efforts during the month would be aimed at improving the local peoples understanding and knowledge about food hygiene and safety and stamping ongoing acute diarrhoea, by promote their education of local consumers and producers about food hygiene and safety practice.
The provincial steering committee for ensuring Food Safety and Hygiene has established many inter-branch teams who have gone to inspect hygienic facilities in food production and processing establishments in the province.
