(ĐN)- Late last week, the province Party Committee’s Propaganda and Training Department in cooperation with Dong Nai Journalists’ Association held a ceremony to review the implementation of the Notice No 162-TB-TW of the Politburo over the past two years on the leadership and management of mass media, and mark 82nd anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day. The ceremony was attended by Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Vo Van Mot, Head of the Mass Mobilisation Department of the Provincial Party Committee Bui Ngoc Thanh, Head of the province Party Committee’s Propaganda and Training Department Huynh Van Toi, Standing Vice Chairwoman of the provincial Fatherland Front Committee Nguyen Thi Kim Lien.

During the past two years, there has been a great deal of progress in the press in Dong Nai with the remarkable increase in the number of journalists and the quality of publications. The press has helped bring guidelines and policies of the Party and the Government to people, given voice to people’s thoughts and expectations, and actively participated in the struggle against corruption, wrongdoings and dissipation. However, further efforts should be made to build a professional press apparatus that are absolutely loyal to the Party’s cause, are closer to the people and can quickly access to modern press technologies.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mrs. Bui Ngoc Thanh praised the achievements and contributions made by Dong Nai’s mass media agencies and journalists who overcame difficulties to complete their political duties in the past time. She expressed her hope that the press will continue the function as the organ of the Party, State and at the same time serve as a forum for the people. Besides, more efforts needed to improve its operation, increase training activities for its members and perfect regulations on press.
